I have similar problems, the only editors listed in the drop down are Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. Having a dedicated tool on C1 would, at least nominally, provide full control but perhaps at the cost of forcing people to take control whether they need to or not. In practise that may not be as complete as one might like. So in theory Windows does the work for us and C1 taps into that. Now my experience are based on Win 7 as I have so far avoided Win10 but I have not read any comments from Win 10 user to suggest the way things are handled is greatly different. It is, of course, entirely possible to associate any program with any file type - indeed windows will often do that AND set a default - even though the association is entirely incorrect. One problem may be that the applications try to make themselves the "default" programs for the list they claim and if that claim is disallowed I get the impression that the association concept often fails. Also whether such an association is allowed at the time end so on. It's a question of Windows file associations and whether or not an application, when installed, identifies to Windows which file types it claims it is able to edit. I sure hope that version 20 makes this easier and adds better cloning abilities cause I'm really regretting my purchase right now. Unfortunately, if you have many, you'd have to do this for all the programs you want to add. it will open up that program and add it to the list in the plugin tab. then select "Pick an app" and go search for your program and select it. So here's the deal to add an app not on the plugin list. hummm, would that "Pick an app" let me select an application to use? duh! it does. □ kept playing it and I see where he right clicks the image to select an app. I go back to that link to see if I missed anything on that video but it doesn't mention anything. ugggh why did I listen to those forum people?!!! □ Ok, I click on that thinking it'll prompt me to pick a app. I look and look and notice that one of the items on the list is Pick an app. Reading the comments of that link, where someone responded to a question of they can't see their Nik on the list, with are you searching executables? I'm scratching my head saying, how the hell does one does that? So I go back to the plugins tab to see if there's any option to add executable to the list. Pressing the + button on the bottom left only allows these types *.coplugin! wth? based on this link it should appear in the list but what is shown for me is a few unrelated photo editing apps. Got a lot of good feedback from other forums on Capture One but as I'm using it, it seems limited.īasically, I'm trying to use a few apps from Topaslabs and Nik. I'm regretting buying this software without trying it out first. I have instructions with the words "HOW TO ADD YOUR EXTERNAL PROGRAM TO THE PLUGIN LIST'. If you're looking to see how to add an app to the list of applications and don't want to read this story, just go to the end of my whining.
